As Mayor of Weston, Texas, I PROCLAIM the Weston 4th of July Parade a Success

I want to extend a big Thank You to the hardworking group of community volunteers who supported the 35th Annual Weston July 4th Parade. Being in the middle of a global pandemic, this certainly was not an easy task – but the majority of citizen input asked that we find a way to continue this treasured tradition.

Everyone involved in the planning and execution was extra cautious to provide a safe environment for spectators and participants. This year, the parade was smaller in both the number of participants and spectators, but that was expected. Volunteers gave out masks and sanitizer, and created 6' coned-off pods to ensure families could distance from other families. Everyone was respectful of what was asked of them, and respected the space of others – keeping “one cow apart”.  No riots or protests, just decent people celebrating hope and freedom.

Thanks to all who contributed to the 2020 Weston 4th of July Parade
