Residents of Weston and our surrounding area,

It has been a very long week.    We have endured power outages, boil water mandates, gas and food shortages, and bad roads, to name a few.  However, the winter storm and it’s associated issues are coming to an end.  ERCOT has announced that the Texas power grid is secure and there will be no more outages.  Weston Water Supply has fixed the chlorine line but it will probably be next Monday before the boil water mandate is lifted.  The gas and food shortages should be resolved soon as the roads begin to clear from the snow melt.

I want to give some special thanks to Tony DelPlato and Epi and Steve Goldstein, who relentlessly kept our water system pumps working during the week.  And lets all thank GCEC, who worked hard during the outages to get our power back on.

I know this period has been tough on a lot of you.  If anyone needs help (food, bottled water, transportation, etc.) for any reason, please reach out to me and I will make sure you get it.  Remember there is still a pandemic on-going and we need to be careful to continue to follow the safety rules.

You can reach us at the City by calling 972-382-1001 or you can email me directly at mayor@westontexas.com

Sincerely,

Jim Marischen

Mayor
